This book lays out The Lord’s Prayer in bite-sized bits for very young children. On each page, there’s a phrase of the prayer and a tiny explanation by Rick Warren. It’s quite well-done and is written in a very child-friendly way. I’d definitely recommend this as a bedtime book. It would provide a lovely wind-down for small children, and it’s a great bedtime prayer as well.

Illustrations:

Richard Jesse Watson is an award-winning artist, and it’s easy to see why. Each page is filled with a beautiful, peaceful illustration of the text.

Cover:

Very pretty, and it appeals to my sensibilities as a designer. I love the watermark text scrolling across the cover on this one. It’s just so lovely. My only complaint would be that it’s not a very “fun” cover for kids. It’s not the kind of cover that will entice a kid to pull this book off the shelf. There’s another version of this book with a lion on the cover (see below) that I think would appeal to kids more.
