The Day My Fart Followed Me to Hockey

Sam Lawrence & Ben Jacks0n (Authors) | Danko Herrera (Illustrator)

A beautifully illustrated journey of Timmy and his best friend the Little Fart as they attend Timmy’s first hockey tryouts. Chaos and laughter ensue as the Fart attempts to help out his best friend the only way he knows how.

Cute and funny. Well written with age-appropriate vocabulary. The font is a (possibly) little small for kids, but overall, I’m happy with it.

The authors picked the right illustrator for this book series. Little Fart is adorable! Each page is a barrel of laughs as Fart causes a lot of anxiety for poor Timmy.

The cover art is fun and funny, though the background is a little drab. The title is large enough, but the font choice is a bit weak. It really doesn’t reflect the fun, goofy hilarity of the story. I’d have liked to see a stronger, bolder choice in font–even if no further text treatment was added.

About the Authors

Sam lives in Ontario Canada and owns her own business. She met her husband Ben Jackson 4 years ago and ever since they have been inseparable when together. The problem is they live 10,000 miles apart, their “commute” is quite long. But that problem hasn’t hurt them as it only has brought them closer together. They started work on their first book together as something to keep things interesting. The content made for some exciting conversations on the male vs female relationship.

Ben lives in Tasmania, Australia. While working during the week as a Boiler Maker/Welder, specializing in Aluminium Welding, he also writes of a night as a Freelance Writer and Author. Ben is in a Long Distance Relationship with his wife Sam, who lives in Canada, she works as a full-time formatting professional, publisher, and author.
